The call came in shortly after 5:00am on December 17, 2005 from a passerby for flames coming from the roof of the back half of the Mayse Farm Market on St. Joseph Ave. The first arriving engine found the storage area of the market fully involved. The metal building had kept the fire contained until it vented itself through the metal roof. It was a cold hard job to tear off the siding to get to the fire.

Mayse has since rebuilt and is now in full operation.
