Cat in a ....
Saturday evening, Jan. 8th, and everything was quiet until a call came into headquarters asking for help. The resident wanted to know if there was some way we could help get a neighbor's cat out of a predicament. It turned out the cat went into the support column of their deck and would not come out. We thought we had dumb dogs in German Township that go on thin ice, but this cat was not very bright! A crew was assembled and after sizing up the area, the incident commander decided that a carefully cut hole in the deck would allow the feline to be fished out with a net that someone had. The cat did not cooperate by crawling into the net. Toby Gentry used some Mississippi know-how and made a snare. After a couple tries the 23 pound cat came up fighting mad. He was put in a carrying case and taken to the vet for observation. A few screws and the patch can hardly be seen. A horse stuck in a fence, dogs on ice and in freezing ponds and a cat in a hole--hope there are no elephants around!!
