Chimney fire becomes full blown fire

October 9, 2005-It was one of those runs that starts out sounding like a simple run and ends up almost being a disaster. McCuthanville was dispatched to a chimney fire and when they arrived on scene found a fire in the attic above the fireplace. It quickly traveled the length of the attic and burned through. The initial attack team on the second floor was knocked down the stairs by a smoke explosion. Ben Woodward ended in the hospital and was treated for a burn on his right ear and a bruised knee. He was back at work on Monday as shown in last picture at Fire Prevention in Cynthia Heights School.
