Scott Township Fire Department arrived on scene at
a single story - single family dwelling on Wednesday to find a well
involved fire. A working fire was requested by the IC which immediately
began a brand new move up system for the Suburban Fire Chiefs
Association. It took firefighters several hours to bring the fire under control
in part due to the extremely cold weather.
Initially, the first fire hydrant that was laid out from did not supply water and an additional
engine laid out from a hydrant about 500 feet away. About 40
firefighters were on scene. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the
fire was reported to be caused by a candle that had fallen over. There
was no electricity to the structure due to the ice and snow that is
affecting the Evansville area.
