On September 3rd during a series of thunder storms that moved across northern Vanderburgh County, an alarm for a house fire on Darmstadt Rd was turned in and a second alarm followed. German firefighters were among those on scene. Signs of a nearby lightening strike pointed to the cause. The house had severe damage to the roof and interior. On the week of September 14th restoration was well under way.
