Company 9 from streetCompany 9 at 8400 St Wendel Rd

This station, known as Company 9 because it was the ninth station in the suburban fire association, was built by the members of the department in 1974 after the land was donated by a generous German Township resident.   This station protects the residents of German Township's northern residents and is located at the intersection of St. Wendel Road and Big Cynthiana Road (IN 65).  It can hold up to four fire and rescue trucks.  It also houses the equipment needed to refill the self contained breathing apparatus (or air masks) as well as the radio tower for all intra-department communications.

In November 2000, this station received a federal grant out of the America's Burning effort to make the station earthquake ready. The building at NO DIRECT COST to residents of German Township was retrofitted by Industrial Contractors to help the building withstand an earthquake. This retrofitting will have a direct impact on our ability to respond during times of natural disasters.
