Barn Fire at 1218 Hoing Rd
A fire broke out in a pole barn on the property at 1218 Hoing Rd. The fire was well under way when Scott's District Chief Mark Andrews, a neighbor, smelled the fire and went to investigate and sound the alarm by radio to Dispatch. Because the fire was so well developed it became a defense battle with the primary goal to keep it from spreading to the house. The owner was out of town. No one was injured at the scene although one firefighter was transported to the hospital for observation. Scott and German fire departments arrived on scene about 4:00PM and after it became apparent that this was going to be a long run, units from McCutchanville and Knight were called for more manpower while Perry covered for the west side of the county. The last units called available at 10:05PM.
