Captain Cindy Gries (8A8) has been a member of German Township Fire Department since December of 1997. She is the Public Information Officer and the Safety Officer. Cindy currently holds Indiana State Certifications as a First Responder, Firefighter I/II, Fire Officer I and Safety Officer. Cindy has received a number of awards for high run attendance, and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in February of 2009. She works for Evansville Surgical Associates as a medical transcriptionist. Cindy has three children: Sally, who is the Development Director at St. Mary’s Warrick Hospital; Emily, who lives in Saipan, teaching school children with special needs;  and Russell, who works at the Shoe Carnival Warehouse in computer maintenance.
