Captain Cindy Gries (8A8) has been a member of German Township Fire Department since December of 1997. She is the Public Information Officer and handles numerous administrative duties for the department. Cindy currently holds Indiana State Certifications as a First Responder, Firefighter I/II, Fire Officer I, Safety Officer, Technical Rescue Awareness, Hazmat Awareness and Operations. She has received a number of awards for high run attendance, and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in February of 2009. She works for Evansville Surgical Associates as a medical transcriptionist. Cindy enjoys spending time with her children:  Sally and her husband Scott, Emily and her husband Kurt, and Russell and his wife Melana.  She has one granddaughter, Riley, and a grandson on the way.  She also has a Long Hair Chihuahua, Roubidoux.
