Assistant Chief David Bretz (8A2)
David Bretz joined the fire service in January 1980. He spent 14 years with the Smith Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. and left while serving as Chief. He moved from Smith Twp. to German Twp. due to a change in careers. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors and also as President of the Board of Directors. He currently holds the rank of assistant chief. Chief Bretz is certified as Master Firefighter in categories of Fire/Arson Investigation, Instructor II / III, Tactics, Fire Officer I, Hazardous Materials Operations. He is also a First Responder.
David is also a licensed plumber and holds a technical certificate in heating
and air. He is currently the Facilities Director for Holiday Healthcare Corp.
He enjoys spending leisure time with his daughters Haley and Katelyn. He
also enjoys Amateur Photography.
