On October 23, 11:16, German Township Fire department was dispatched to a house fire on Kleitz Rd. Firefighter Jim Geiser, who lives a couple doors away was first on scene and found that another neighbor had used an old fashion fire extinguisher- a wet towel- to extinguish the fire. The fire was caused by the cat knocking over a candle and igniting some papers and a kitchen chair. Everyone was out of the residence and arriving firefighters examined the scene and used a vent fan to clear the remaining smoke. Damaged was limited to the chair, floor and table. The cat disappeared and was not available for interrogation.
