On the left hand side of this page, you'll find
a variety of safety tips that will help you protect you, your family and your
property. From enrolling in CPR classes to
understanding the critical need to put up reflective signs so we can find
your home in the case there is an emergency, we've tried to lay it all out
here for you. 
We'd like to acknowledge the pages that we've borrowed from our fellow fire departments and have done so at the bottom of each page.
What makes a fire burn so hot? Why do firefighters look so funny? What happens when someone in my family gets hurt? These are all questions that can be answered by the members of the German Township Fire Department and on the pages listed on the left.
The goal of our profession is to SAVE LIVES. We are ready and willing to educate you on how to stay alive when an emergency occurs. We train hard and educate ourselves because your life depends on it. But what happens before the German Township Fire Department gets there? Do you know what to do? Your life also depends on you knowing how to survive when an emergency occurs.
Let us
speak to your group or family about ways to keep everyone safe. Whether it is
acquainting youngsters with firefighters and stop, drop and roll or teaching the
adults how to react in an emergency, we will help. We will also be happy to let
you tour our station and see what we do everyday!
The
United States Fire Administration
has a great web site for
children featuring games, safety tips, trivia, and even an application to become
a Junior Fire Marshal. This site is a great place for your kids to have
some fun while learning the invaluable lesson of fire safety.
The USFA web site is a sub web site of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's web site which features games and tons of information on many, many safety subjects.
Last but not least, is the Sparky
web site featuring many interesting web pages from planning an escape route
for you and your family to interactive computer games.
